Community Finds Its Way to the Heart of These 3 Women-Owned Businesses

Now, more than ever, women are finding strength when they lean into the power of community. In celebration of that notion, Instagram for Business introduces togetHER, a 3-part series that shares the stories of three entrepreneurs and the successes and struggles they encounter on their journeys.
This empowering series shines a light on the importance of harnessing the power of community — both in real life and on Instagram — in order to adapt and innovate your business while overcoming gender disparities and a global pandemic.
Meet the entrepreneurs
Episode 1
Welcome to the world of the courageous and resilient Simileoluwaa Adebajo (“Simi”), who faces obstacles with determination and optimism to bring the city of San Francisco a most unique and delicious culinary experience from her homeland at her restaurant @ekokitchensf.
Episode 2
The story of Ketty Valencio owner of the Afro-Brazilian bookstore @livrariafricanidades. A celebration of Black literature and writing, Ketty is on a mission to address topics such as representation and diversity through education.
Episode 3
Lovern Gordon (a victim of domestic violence) transformed a trauma into strength when she started a foundation through Instagram to connect with other sufferers to support a fresh start with @lovelifenowfound.
The resilience of these three women is met with the force of communities that continue to encourage and inspire. In addition to the series, we've published a Guide on Instagram of resources and tools for supporting women-identifying business owners throughout the month of March on Instagram for Business.
