Introducing: Instagram Shop and Facebook Pay

As we continue building products to help businesses and creators of all sizes, we hope Instagram Shopping becomes a critical part of helping businesses succeed. Today, we are launching two new features aimed at making Instagram the best place for people to discover and shop the brands and products they love.

Instagram Shop: The new shopping destination

Instagram Shop is an in-app shopping destination where people can discover products and brands they love from across Instagram. Today, we have started public testing of Instagram Shop in the US and will expand globally in the coming weeks.

Instagram Shop features personalised recommendations based on the brands you follow, as well as collections curated by the @shop team, an account created by our Instagram team that celebrates emerging businesses and the creators behind them.

Businesses can be featured on Instagram Shop by consistently tagging products in their content and creating collections of products in their shop on Instagram.

Facebook Pay: Seamless and secure payments across the family of apps

For purchases made with checkout, Facebook Pay is being rolled out in the coming weeks in the US. Announced last year, Facebook Pay will provide a seamless, secure way to shop and make donations across our apps. It features an extra layer of security with anti-fraud monitoring and the ability to add a unique PIN or device biometrics, such as Touch or Face ID. Facebook Pay will also provide Purchase Protection on eligible products bought using Instagram checkout.

This is part of our on-going commitment to make it shopping even easier and more secure across our apps.
